Took me a second to wonder why the the trim piece didn't cover the entire sub baffle

Yep, it could have but I wanted to make it different and add a "symbol" to it.... :ninja:

Looks like eyes!

I don't know, I'm sure I'm not checking them right. I'll have to see. Be nice if you lived closer you could come help me do it.

...That would be a long drive.. :o

BOOBS

:boobies:

Looks crazy good!

Thanks Man, :drinks:

So, what's going in the center top? Logo?

Probably nothing. There's enough going on around this baffle anyway. I kind of like the plain area that's just white. But who knows...?

Wicks it's looking amazing as always dude! You do A+ work. That toolmaker baffle piece sets it all off. When you do finish this thing you definitely need to make a walk around vid.

Thanks Man, Ohh yeah, definitely need a whole walkaround when complete to show all the details. That's for sure on the plan :good:

OK, we've seen the final product but there was a LOT of work that went into that baffle trim piece.

Lets take a look at what went into it.

Here's the concept drawing that I sent ToolMaker.

610-drawing_zps77754963.png

This is from ToolMaker as he was cutting out the pieces

611-TMfabmetal_zpsfafe2814.jpg

This is the plexi piece

612-TMfabplexi_zps4b0cc9ba.jpg

Laying down some templates to avoid some glue over-spray, for the LED strips.

613-glueprep_zpsc7e218f0.jpg

Laying the first LED strip. You'll notice that the present LED strips are white, these are brown. The initial work on this project was well back before my front baffle broke and some if this had to be redone.

614-LEDglue3_zps31946d5b.jpg

Test fit with the LEDs lit.

615-LEDtest_zps69194686.jpg

Another test. Notice the lack of light in the upper center of the plexi piece.

616-LEDtestagain_zps04e03683.jpg

617-LEDtestmore_zps101c06a1.jpg

Running LEDs around the panel wasn't enough, I needed another running down the middle.

618-LEDwire1_zps3208aba3.jpg

618-LEDwire2_zps76bf09f5.jpg

The middle LED strip required a channel of material to be removed from the plexi.

619-Plexigroove1_zpsa4e61a20.jpg

619-plexigroove2_zps1a88deeb.jpg

The edges of the plexi were a little rough.

620-roughplexiedge_zpsf3cf5b42.jpg

So I polished them up for a better finish.

621-smoothplexiedge_zps19c2432e.jpg

The plexi with the paper removed.

622-sprayprep_zpsce29fcb4.jpg

I bought some window frosting spray to cover the edges of the plexi and give the light a more uniform look rather then seeing the separate LEDs.

623-plexispray_zpse3acfc06.jpg

It didn't have enough of an effect so I ended up just roughing the edge up with some sandpaper (as seen on Mark's Car Audio Fabrication YouTube page).

A final test fit.

624-panelprep_zpsda6ad783.jpg

Here's the end result. Afterwards I just had to figure out how to wrap the fiberglass panel and I was ready to unveil both pieces.
