Folding amp rack to get to the fuse panel? I like where your head is at though. I was just telling LeAndre (Ibleedmusik) about something like this.

You Sir.....are correct. :good:

I'm trying to make the best out of all the space in this little trunk.

I may not need it much, but I like the idea that I have easy access to my fuse panel if needed.

Suggestions on a locking mechanism for the hinged panel?

Looking for ideas on something clever rather than just bolting it shut.

Maybe a lever or something that's finger accessible, will lock the amp securely but doesn't require tools to unlock....

Any reason why you choose wood to directly mount the fuses too?.....wood can become conductive if it gets wet enough, prob only applies with higher voltages though.

Thanks! Yeah I have some neo's that I got for trim panels. Thought about that but I don't know if they're strong enough to hold the amp?

May have to try it out with a few of them and see.

Wood is the only bulk material I had available, but I see your point.

12V is a pretty low voltage so I'm not too worried. It'd have to be pretty wet to substantially conduct at 12V.

The climate in Colorado is dry so humidity isn't a concern either.

The fuse panel will also be buried inside the trunk and won't be open to moisture from the trunk opening.

I'd like to get a thick chunk of plastic though for under my hood so maybe I'll grab some extra for the fuse panel?

That looks so clean. Good work

Thanks Dude!

How's the truck after the open heart surgery?

Looks like you got some snow too. Makes it hard to do some progress when its 10 degrees out and a foot of snow on the ride....

What about a piece of plexi? Also, depending on how you're going to finish it off, a nice strip of HD velcro may do the trick!

Sure plexi would work great, I just don't have any extra sitting around that's thick enough, plus plexi is fairly expensive.

Now that things are mapped out, I may just go online and get a chunk of bulk plastic stock.

Speaking of, I could probably use more anyway since I want to redo my center console (voltmeter/bass knob) creation.

Hmmm, I do have some bad-ass Velcro at work that we've used on a couple projects that would definitely hold it.

It actually would hold it too good and I probably wouldn't get it open... :D
