Dfrancis24
Box is looking good steve, hopefully it sounds just as nice! Hey Steve can I run 1 Rockford fosgate t2500-1bd and 2 Mayhem 12 D2 –Ascendant Audio 12 I wouldn't recommend it 1st reason if you get dual 2 ohm coils which actually read 1.4 a coil you would be running that amp at 0.35ohms (parallel wiring) or 1.4ohms (series/parallel wiring). That amp sure wont take .35ohms. At 1.4ohms that amp wont make much power, especially after impedance rise, and the woofers wouldn't even move with much authority . 2nd reason being that 2 Ascendant Audio Mayhems will laugh at 2500 watts rms on the pair of woofers, and wouldn't even really get moving until you have 4500-5000 watts rms on them. You would be better off going with dual 2 ohm coils and 2 rf 2500bd. Which will be 1 amp per 1 sub @ .7 ohms. If 2 amps is not in your budget you would be better off getting the next model down, like the Havocs and get dual 1 ohm coils (which read .7ohms per coil) and with a series/parallel voice coil wiring config you would be running the amp at a safe impedance of 0.7ohms on one rf2500bd. I think am going to stick with the one amp for now which be the better sub to run the Havoc or t2 the havoc is 1250w and the rf t2 1200w

meade916
guys...i "rigged" it all together, which is never a good thing for a bandpass box due to leaks and did my best to seal those leaks with some "gorrilla tape". The box does sound pretty good. Its not "blowing me away" though. It is making a lot of wind and needs more port IMO. I really don't have a car to test it in and see EXACTLY how it sounds so i am basing my opinion of just how it sounds out on the shop floor. The only way for me to truly tell if its a great box would be to TOTALLY seal it (very important in BP boxes) and get it in the car......which can't be done unless i build it IN the car and actually cut the deck to port up into the cabin. I don't want to do that until i am confident in the box. It will take more testing this week to determine that. It needs more work for sure. Today, i will experiment more with it but i can already tell i MORE THEN LIKELY won't end up using this box. I gotta friend coming by with a hatchback car and after changing some ports around, i will give it one more chance and then it goes to the scrap bin and on to plan B i go. LOL like i said in the beginning, this is experimental. Todays woofers are not like the woofers of the past and i don't know that they like being "clamshelled" like that.
