2 sa8 builds v1.5 in hsv, v2 in toyota 75 series

Recommended Posts

Ok so just doing a mild build for the misses car,

2 sa8 dual 2 in 0.75 @34hz

on kicker zx400.1 (temporary amp) @ 2 ohm

still running stock 11 speaker Bose system at the moment,

future mods will be focal 8" 2 way on rear shelf (where factory subs are) and 6.5 components in all 4 doors

havent decided on amp brand to replace kicker yet as i want my speaker and sub amps to look the same, so until i decide on components i wont not what to get , but considering the sundown 125.4 when it comes out and the 1000 for subs.

anyway this is what i have so far, progress is slow due to weather and daylight, and still waiting on some parts to arrive

this is before the extra front baffle and silicone of all the joints,

i had to do a bit of planning to level the box out as there was a gap of 0.04" in two of the corners

the box with extra baffle, as you can see the port is primed and sprayed with a thin layer spray putty ready for sanding smooth

you may also notice the small notch in the side, this to to aid in the removal the plexiglass to be installed

this is what i sent out to have cut on a water jet out of 15mm (0.059") plexi

ive since carpeted the box and fitted the plexi

waiting for some led heat shrink to turn up so i can install it inside the box to shine through the plexi only,

also just received my 3/16 t-nut so i can install the subs aswell

Yes pour quality pic, taken from phone, should have some better one soon, when i get further along

Looks really nice!

I'm curious to how well that box works out though? I remember a rule of thumb saying the port should look like a port in the enclosure, not a continuation of it.

And your box looks more like a t-line, but if it's for the better or worse i don't know :)

Should work fine

The last box I build just as a slap together had a smaller port at 10x1.75 but after speaking to sundown and going through pages of other poeples builds they all seem to build 0.6cuft net 14" of port at 33-35hz

So that's what I build except for I increased the net to 0.75 to make the box a bit more peak bait more

this isn't an exact drawing as i had converted to metric and rounded it due to 3/4" is 19.05mm and only 18mm mdf is avaible, but above it the exact measurements
