Baydestrian
Who is going to watch it? I def want to and I know you need Welders Glass Shade 14, theres a welders outlet in my city that has Heat Treated Filter plates for 78 cents. From what I read though you can't just hold up the sheets, you should use googles but the outlet doesn't carry any in shade 14. There is also the last passing of Venus in the 21st Century infront of the sun on June 5th and that won't happen again until Dec 11, 2117! Baydestrian
I think I might have to head to one of the spots in Frisco to view it. Hollow, in San Jo you can go to The intersection of Twilight and Rupert drives, from 5 to 7:40 p.m., sponsored by the San Jose Astronomical Associaton Article on this plus where in the Bay you can go to watch it safely http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/05/17/MN1D1OHQ43.DTL&type=science Also, on June 4th 2:59am til 5:06am there will be a lunar eclipse, can't wait to watch that! porksoda
The map on this web page from the weather channel has times to expect it to happen in your area. http://www.weather.com/news/annular-eclipse-view-20120516 Observers almost everywhere west of the Mississippi will see a crescent-shaped sun as the moon passes by off-center. Baydestrian
Camera won't work, you will still hurt your eyes. If there is a welding supply in your area go to them and get Shade 14 welders glass and ask for hella with what to put it in. Another thing which is free and what I will probably do is stand underneath a tree, where the light filters though you will see crescent shapes but it is only a partial eclipse and only 84% of the suns light will be blocked. If you look at the map you will be SOL Manny Quote 2015 Mazda 6 JVF Customz 4.0 Proto 15>Wolfram W4500 @ .5ohm 2 Sundown Neo 6.5 + 2 CT Meso Tweeters (Front) x Kicker KS6.5 (Rear)>JL Audio VX400/4i NSB-AMG35 (front) / 40ah Lithium Headway (Rear) built by Erni Audio & Electrical
