rockford t1000-1bdcp still gets hot

Ditch the distro's as the battery will do the same thing with less chance of resistances causing some issue.

I didn't correct you before, but your wire size is 1/0, not 0/1. It's pronounced single or one ott. Think of it that why from now on. Hope the rewiring helps. I wonder if you're having a voltage drop problem from the batt to the amp. Id DMM that thing to see what's going on

dont those amps have the led needles on the face of it? is the output one turning red when you're playing it?

The cooling fins are supposed to get hot.

They have to pull the heaet away from internal components. But if you say it get's hot fast, then something must be wrong.

Like, why do you have a distro coming from 0 guage wiring splitting in 4 guage for amp and 4guage for batt. That's not how you do it.

Why don't you wire the 0 guage wiring to the batt and then go to the amp with 4 ugage or 0 guage wiring whatever you like.

DId you measure the voltage at the amp? or at the batt? If you measured it at the batt, then remeasure at the amp at full tilt.

Those amps do not have the LED needles, no. As far as I know it's only the 2500s and the T1000-4 4 channel.

What electrical upgrades do you have?

You have measured the voltage at max volume right?

I wouldn't touch a 2500 is the 1000 already makes your electrical fail.

I have a question. Can you post pic's of your connections to your battery and ground up front and ground and battery in the back? I'm just curious about that kind of stuff. Plus if you are seeing 12.5 then I Think one of two things are happening. Either you have a less than optimal connection somewhere or your electrical isn't keeping up. I say that because your batteries should rest around 12.8, and when the car is running you should be at 13.8 to 14.4. If you see 12.5 then that means you are pulling more than your alt can put out and dipping into your batteries reserves. Lower voltage means the amp draws more amperage which means more heat. So if you could put up some pictures of your connections and tell us what alternator you are using that could help
