PGG
Well hello, this is my first post I have seen many videos about the Sundown SA-8 subwoofer which i found popular in here I came to ask...Is it worth buying for using it in my room? I want to have clean and LOOOOW bass Some other things now.. I already have a cheap Mac audio sub which is basically kind crap (Trying to sell it-no buyers for it ) I've also got 2 oval speakers for the vocals and a cheap car batt. The amp i use is this one: http://www.mac-audio...c94019fb2b11fdd (I always use the Logitech Z 2300 btw, main pc speakers ) I don't want to buy something that will not make any difference from what i already have..Can this sub handle the low's well? It's gonna get only a little power (around 160rms).Is it worth buying? I've also considered something else--->SA-8 or the speaker set of Edifier S730 ????????? Thanks for your time Edited May 22, 2012 by PGG

Bump4life
home audio is a different animal. enclosure design is key. 160 is def enough. just study up on enclosure designs that work in large spaces. t line could work for you as well. make sure to have a LPF on it too Quote Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. beaker
You can slot port a HT box. The ones that are areo ported are usually tuned WAY higher With an 8 a T line would be awesome, it all depends on what you're going for with your design. Do you want it to POUND out some music? Do you want it to sound flat on music, but hit down to 20hz for movies? Do you want the best of both? A T line is the most efficent box, and is usually overlooked in car audio but works amazing in home audio because of the large box design. With an 8, it wouldnt even have to be that big. I know once I start to tackle doing some home theater setup, I am going to do a multiple sub set up. 2 boxes slot ported, same subs, same power. One tuned super low for 1Hz up to where ever the cross over will be for the next sub, which will go form that cross over to about 80Hz. Then a ported midbass driver from there up to around 350, then a mid from there to 3k, and a tweet from there to 20k.
