RT Obcon Labyrinth Ported Box for 2 12" Alpine Type R's

Recommended Posts

if you have the time and the means to build one your self you could do better for the money . the biggy is finding what specs to build you box to . what i know of the type r's from my experience would make me want to tune on the higher side if doing a ported box with the goal being a flat response , but i am not for sure on the tuning

No way I would buy a ported box from those guys.

I have a sealed box from them. It is decent - I bought it for much less than their website price.

I called and asked them about the net volume of the ported box, and the guy said it is the same as the sealed box. I asked how, and he let me know their port design is part of the airspace and does not displace from the net volume.

Just read their vent info and you can see they are lost when it comes to ported boxes:

I like how their design uses both the push and pull motion of the woofer by letting sound escape from inside the chamber. All I can say is "wow"

... I lol'd

MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..."

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.
