I gave it up when it became more like a business and less like a hobby. Here's what I like about McIntosh - if you like your shit loud (and I do), then a McIntosh amplifier will play as loud as you like for as long as you like. The ONLY other amps that compare in that regards are professional grade amplifiers like Crown and QSC, of which I own some of that stuff too. I guess that's one of the reasons that numerous groups chose McIntosh for their amplification - George Jones and George Strait still each use numerous stacks of MC2300s to this day, and the amp went out of production in 1980 . . . PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at. It is pretty incredible down to 12 Hz. It just dies below 12 Hz. Limited by the electronics. More base than the house can handle with the subs only moving 1/4-1/2" Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
