AQ hdc3 motor question

Recommended Posts

i have a couple 15in hdc3's (motors and baskets) that have been sitting around for 5 months. finally about to order recones and i notice that on both of them one of the mags looks as if it is shifted on one side. but on the other side it is completely even with all the others. so is this a common defect or imperfection on the aq subs or could they very well be messed up? i look down the center pole and looked like the gap was fine. fine enough to run recones, or should i take a change at all on reconing them? any info on this would help. ran hdc3s before but never noticed this till now.

its not uncommon for the magnets to not be the exact same size. as long as you dont have any coil rub youre probably fine

good deal then! looks like no coil rub should occur. i figured that yea they just were off on size a little if one side could be even and the other not by a little. if it was a true shift both sides would be off.

Pics just to be sure? Im thinking if it shifted, It would of shifted fully, and it would be touching the pole. That's my theory at least.
