SkateMike519
I just wired up my hifonics brz1700.1d. When I finally connected everything, I turned the car on. Amp turned on fine but went into protection mode. I double checked wiring. All seemed to be perfect. Turned it back on, and came out of protection. I was fiddling with the gains, filters, etc. Head unit was on by volume at 0. Went to the trunk again and the amp started smoking. Any help would be AWSOME!!! This amp was bought brand new and this is the first time it was turned on. Subs are wired in parallel so amp would be 1 ohm. Front battery is stock. Positive from front to rear battery front battery grounded up front rear ground in the trunk. (Not 100% sure if the grounds are the best. Could this be the problem???) 200amp fuse in the front. Another 200 amp fuse is in between the rear battery and the amp. The wire that goes from the rear battery to the amp is approximately a foot and a half long with the inline fuse connected. No fuses popped. Subs did not move. Zero gauge all around except I have 2 gauge (JL Audio) as ground on amp. Yeah there's your problem. that matters why? both gauges are more than big enough for this amp Well I'm just saying. Better to have the same size. Still doesn't rule out the fact he could have crappy ground. Rest In Peace mother. SkateMike519
Could it be a bad ground that could cause this? 2 - Sundown Audio SA-12 D4 (Box tuned to 34 hrz) 1 - RF t1500.1bdcp 1 - RF t400.4 2 - JL Audio C5 5 1/4 in front doors 2 - JL Audio C5 570 in rear deck 2 - JL Audio ZR100 in front pillars 1 - Kenwood ExCelon HU
