Swapping ports is never going to achive the same results as building an optimum enclosure for whatever you choose to run. For example spl boxes have a smaller internal airspace than a daily box 99% of the time and just swapping ports doesn't give the same effect as building the enclosure that is ideal for your subs. Also with building seperate boxes you are able to tweek the shape and every other variable of the enclosure to achieve maximum spl. Trust me when I say that shape of an enclosure plays a big part in how well it will produce spl wise. The location of the woofers on the baffle, how much space between the back of the magnet and the rear wall of the enclosure, and how far away from the port the woofers are will all be factors of overall output as well. I've been running Sundown products since 2008 and have a ton of experience with low power to over-powered setups.
