rmireles1
hey guys, i have had this doubt in my mind for years now and i can't find any clear answers on the web. if you have multiple subwoofers connected on a single amp channel at 1 ohm vs. a single subwoofer at the same ohm, will the watts be affected? I mean if the amp output is 1000 watts at 1 ohm obviously the single connected subwoofer will receive 1000 watts but what if you have 4 subwoofers connected at 1 ohm to the same amp, will all subs receive 1000 watts? I think the above logic is wrong, please HELP.....
pimpnFosgates
the power would be split evenly among the subs. loudNlow87
Power gets divided evenly between all the subs. 1 ohm is 1 ohm. Same power will be delivered. dog24fret
Running 4 subs off of 1,000 watts will give each sub 250 watts each. But if anything has changed on this I'm unaware of it. Cowboy Escort GrAnny ThUmper The Burp

rmireles1
Thanks everyone for replying to my topic. This makes perfect sense. I actually have 4 subwoofers dual 2ohm voice coils on a hifonics 2500 watt amp. So according to your logic i'm only giving them 625 watts? well that sux. i'm pretty impressed with the performance though. It flexs the hell out of my back door (2 dr tahoe) and even my hood/grill flex. o_O. ok thanks everyone, it looks like i'll need to change my wiring configuration and add additional amps. THANKS ALOT!

I've installed all my system and i think i have decent audio knowledge and but had just been bugging me for so long. Now I am scared of the potential of my system once i figure out what i can do with it knowing this.....
