You are going to choke your port if it ends that close. You should always try to keep your port the width of the port away from the back wall

1.5" baffle + 23" physical port length + 2.75" (distance from centerline of port to port edge) + 1.375" width of turn + .75" (width of port wall) = 29 3/8"

Will end correction make up for the lost 5/8"? Does it even matter?

I think I figured it out, just had to talk it out. LOL

I thought on a center port, the port width is cut in half at the turn?

If it bends yes. You were saying it doesn't bend. That's what I was going off
