808faka Posted June 15, 2012 Report Share Posted June 15, 2012 wassup guys was installing my ns1 tonight and when i went to put in the first ground wire it sparks blue any ideas everything els is in the 3 powers rcas not sub wires tho. system was running fine earlier with my 3000d and when i went to swap in the ns1 it sparks, thanks for any help. kandiman71874 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Share Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) Even when you hook up the disconnected battery you are going to get a spark like that when you go to hook the battery back up at the battery terminal . The capacitors in the amp discharge slowly when the amp is not hooked up. All you were seeing was a spark from the current draw to recharge them. It scares the hell out of you the first couple times you have to deal with it but its usually nothing to worry about. Accidentally hook an amp up backwards though and prepare for an even bigger spark followed by smoke usually... My dc 5k sparks really bad when i put the fuse in the anl fuse holder and i always expect it but it still makes you jump because of how loud and bright it is. Just look over every connection on that wire to make sure no strands are loose or about to ground out before you pop that fuse in and you will be all good.
