RFfan Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Hi I'm planning on building my own box for a ROCKFORD FOSGATE T2. I was wondering if someone could help me with a diagram with the dimensions, because I'm not sure how to incorporate a port into the box and where to put it for the best sound. I wanted it ported and it has to be small enough to fit in a sedans trunk. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Quote
Omega5002 Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 If you want to save room in your trunk, focus on width, and height more than length. The T2 likes 1.75 - 2.25 cu ft after displacement for ported. Here's a helpful forum topic on how to use torres calculator, and how to make a design on google sketchup http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/145174-ported-box-design-a-tutorial/ Quote 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

Omega5002 Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 This should help, though I've heard the port should be on the driver side facing the same direction as the sub in a sedan, that's how I have on mine. Here's to help explain a little better on ported boxes, but for slot port, the port should between 12 - 16 in^2 port area per foot http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/38791-torres-box-tuning-calculator/ Quote 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
RFfan Posted June 19, 2012 Author Report Posted June 19, 2012 Thanks for the help so far. you don't happen to have a diagram do you? Quote
Joe X Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 Here is a suggestion, should fit in most trunk type of vehicles: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34.5 Hz Vb = 2.5 ft^3 External Height = 14 in External Width = 29 in External Depth = 18 in Port Width = 2 1/2 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 29 x 14 Left & Right Sides = 15 3/4 x 12 1/2 Top & Bottom = 29 x 15 3/4 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 13 1/4 x 12 1/2 Extension = 4 1/2 x 12 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): PM questions if any as I usually don't check this section.
