Voice coil going bad?

i'm thinkin i fried a little section of the voice coil so the electricity isn't passing through quite like it should.. i don't have anything to check the ohms of it. i was planning on upgrading subs anyway

Got them a little hot once, for how long?

i was running them on that setting for about a day, listened to dixie cup by krizz kaliko (long bass hits, almost the entire song) by the end of the song I could smell the coils, a little smoke coming out of em... i think part of one of them is a little toasted cuz i'm running them in parallel

Same thing happend to my RE Sxx the other day to some Tech n9ne haha go figure. strange music FTMFW. sending it in tomorrow for warranty. Might sell it and go to fi or sundown or AQ, good woofer just idk shouldn't be getting as hot as it was off my brz 1200.1

cant find my DMM! but it was def wired to a 1 ohm load. I recently even removed the plastic pos magnet cover, i wonder if that had anything to do with it
