osage
Right now I'm only running a Rockford Punch 400.4 and a Kicker ZX750.1 and I want some more bass. Nothing too crazy, but more than enough to have some fun with. I'm going to be ordering two FI Q 12s, fully loaded and a Hifonics ZRX3000.1D to power them. I am currently running stock electrical with a optimia yellow top and a 1 ferad cap that I got for free and use for the voltage meter on it. Should I upgrade my alt and go from my current 2gauge wiring to 0/1? Before I order the subs should I get them in dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm? Going to be running the amp at 1ohm of course. Joe X
Dual 1 ohm and yes you will need to upgrade your wiring to 0 AWG and your electrical. That amp is not CEA certified so you may not see the full 3k. EDIT: FIXED SORRY. Edited June 29, 2012 by Joe X
Guest
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23550_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ2400.1D.html a better choice from hifonics. upgrading alt? depends on how big your stock one is. more than likely you wont be able to play full tilt while idling without risking damage to something. 0 gauge is a must. get rid of that cap cause its not gonna do shit. you're gonna need the biggest agm battery you can fit under the hood, and a group 31 agm in the trunk near the amp. osage
What would be a good alt to get for this build? Factory alt is a 110amp, pretty low... Probably cheaper than new I saw them, it's an okay deal but I would rather just buy them new with a few of the options.. Plus my car is a blue/black scheme and there's no chrome on it etc so those dust caps.. Just nah lol.. osage
The alt I can get from Stinger is about $500, what brand would be the best but still at a decent price? Looking to spend $300-$400 at the most. john253a
If your going for a 400.4 and 3k mono You'll need to look at 300amp alt 2x 0 runs from bat 2 bats in trunk 1 good bat up front If you have issues or money is a big thing I'd start with 300amp alt or as close to it as u can get Start with 1 0g run And 1 good bat up front Then a second run of 0 Then 2 batts in rear
