I want to add a sub to my Mini. Its a 2011 Countryman S with the Harmon Kardon system. I would like to do an aftermarket dash, but I;m having no luck finding dash kits. So, if I wanted to just add a sub amplifier, where would I start looking? Line converter? Where would I tap the speaker wires? Finding diagrams is a PITA, every search I do comes up with Cooper stuff, and i'm sure my car's a little different.

go for it. 1st off, you couldnt get past the gate. second, i wouldnt even hear your system inside my house. third, i would just turn mine up and drown out your system, eat my skittles, and laugh at your pathetic ass.

From a little searching it looks like it doesn't have a factory subwoofer.

I stand corrected I went to a mini forum and someone was asking about the Harmon Kardon package and it was mention that there are 2 subs somewhere :shrugs:. Kind of mixed reviews on the sound.

Ken, why not just fab up a dash kit? Or is this more of a lets slightly improve the sound but not go balls to the wall.

These days MOST factory garb is band passed. With that IF your just wanting to add a sub stage, the factory sub signal is where you'll wanna collect from.

Sub woofer or back 6x's... Whatever

The best luck I had, was the RF-BLD. It had variable/selectable voltage in, clip indicator, and actually REMOVED noise,... Nevermind introduced.

Just my experience. Sold my unit to TREY.... Wish I never did....

Exactly.

It is amplified. Just want to add a substage, no factory subs. The factory mids and highs are pretty clean, so i'll leave them be for now.

Upon further research, the radio is integrated with other systems in the car, so an aftermarket deck is not something I want to fuck with.

Correction, there are midbass drivers under the seats. Factory 6-channel amp in rear quarter panel driver side. So, I guess I would need to tap the speaker wires before the factory amp. Now, just need to identify wire colors.
