Shit I would go as far as finishing with at least a 600 grit. If your gonna do it, may as well do it right.

I'd use the 220 and see if it get the results you want. Since its grade A wood, im sure it doesnt need too much of a rub down

Lowes only has up to 220.

Harbor freight or an auto parts store will have finer grit.

Been sanding all day off and on. Started with 120, then 320. Gonna finish up with 600. Pretty smooth already after the 320.

I didn't realize AutoZone has sand paper up to 2000 grit!!!

Heck yeah, that stuff is great for oxidized paint. Get the car wet and gently run with some 2k then wax. I used to own an 81 f-150 it was orange. then i wet sanded with 2k and found out it was red, no lie!
