Great looking component set. It's all looking really good

I'm hoping they sound just as good! Thanks!

I found out that the wire I ran for the mid in my driver door was bit too short, so that stopped me from getting to where I was hoping to be tonight. I should be all set, though, by the time UPS comes tomorrow to drop off the speaker rings which will probably be around 5 or 6 in the evening. Here are a few more pics.

Tech Flexed my wiring harness

Got the dash back together

P1170383_zps08e06bca.jpg

Added a couple more fuse holders to the amp rack for the 4 channel and the second run of 1/0

P1170385_zpsea416ad6.jpg

I messed the paint up here when I drilled the holes where the wire will pass through to the amp. I'll try to fix that next week though.

Pretty good mess of wires...

P1170388_zps2291e1d3.jpg

The things I have left to do tomorrow are:

- Re-run the speaker wire to my driver door

- Hook up the all the wires to fuse blocks on the amp rack

- Re-install the second battery

- Mount another fuse block under the hood for the second run of 1/0

- Hook up that run to my front battery

- Hook up the amps

- Re-install the head unit

- DD-1 the amps

- Put trim panels back on the seat/amp rack

- put the Fi back in

- Drill out the factory tweeter holes so the bigger Mezzo tweeters will fit

- Put the seats and center console back in

- Install tweeters

- Wait for UPS

- Clean out the interior of my truck

- Wait some more

- Install speaker rings

- Install 6.5s

- Put the door panels back on

- Set crossovers and slopes

- Take a very long drive!

Whoops. Some of the pictures are gone.

Love those comps. Wish they'd have spent more time cleaning up the crossovers though. All those crooked components drive me crazy! But that's not to say I wouldn't love to get my hands on some!

Waiting for more.

Fixed the pics! And I'm not incredibly happy with the crossovers either. The covers on them are supposed to just snap in place, but they're really weak and they fall off easily. It won't be a problem in my truck since I won't be using them, but if I ever do end up using them I might just use a bit of spray adhesive to hold the covers in place.

I'm almost done now! I'm waiting on UPS, which will apparently be here in an hour, so I figured I'd update you guys now and then I'll have a smaller update later tonight once it's complete.

Got all the fuse blocks wired up in the amp rack

Nice wiring mess behind the amps. I tried to make this as clean as possible, but it's a bit difficult when the wires need to be able to move around.

Used some machine screws to secure it down

P1170416_zpsbe636d23.jpg

One mid in! The trim ring around it, along with the mesh grille, were too big to fit in the door panel, so those aren't currently on there.

And the tweeters!

I got in my truck and started playing music, and to be honest, I wasn't really impressed. Everything sounded very off and there was a "pop" coming through the speakers every once in a while. I figured out that the pop was coming from my iPod through the USB cable because it went away whenever I tried a different source like the radio or a USB drive. It also sounded fine if I was using the headphone jack on my iPod. So I drove to Target to get a new cord. I played with the crossovers and slopes on the deck a little bit (I have no idea what I'm doing when it's get those right now...) and I got it to sound a bit nicer. I got to Target and bought a new cord, and it was still popping. Well it turns out that I only needed to restart my iPod! On my way home from Target I brought the crossover point between the tweeters and mids down a ways and that's when they really started to sound nice!

Anyways, I'm sure there's still TONS of potential I'm missing out on right now. My DD-1 was acting up today when I was setting the gains on the C1100.4, so I'm a bit nervous to turn it up too much. I'm gonna try to reset the gains tomorrow and hopefully I can figure out what's going on. In the meantime my mids are set to where I think they should be, and the gain on the tweeters is set all the way down. I'll try to get it all set up tomorrow, but one of my friends is gonna be in town for the day, and he wants to go mountain biking. Then I have work in the evening so I may end up not having enough time. I'll let you guys know though!

I would if I didn't have to work on Sunday! I did get the gains set better today and it sounds quite a bit better. I also set my crossovers as close I could to where they were on the crossovers that came with the speakers. There's still a bit of tweaking left to do but they're sounding pretty awesome now!

I went out and took some pictures of everything all completed.

I've put a little bit more time into tuning the Mezzos and they're sounding pretty great now! I would still be completely lost, I'm sure, if it weren't for the 80prs. When you have it in Network mode, it changes the outputs from Sub, Front, and Rear to Low, Mid, and High. Then it lets you adjust all the crossovers and slopes right from the deck. You can also mute each channel so that you can see what's actually coming through what speakers. Anyways, like I've said before, I'm sure there's still some potential left in the speakers that I haven't found yet, but I'm definitely a lot closer than I was!

Also, the amps have started sliding out from their spots under harder braking. I took a sheet of Plexiglass and cut it so that I can slide it in between the frame of the amp rack and the front trim piece so that's the amps stay in place while I'm driving. Then I just have to slide it out to mess with the amps or for shows.
