REVOofRustler
On another note, I stripped out the panels in the back of my truck. What could that mean?! UPS man dropped this off tonight! 20 sq feet of Damplifier Pro! This stuff is BURLY And what system would be complete without stickers? The one rattle that I could not stand was coming from the backrest of the back seat. After getting it all stuck on. I didn't clean anything off the backrest and the stuff still feels like it's on there solid. And then I moved onto the inside of the truck Bare back panel After putting some of it on Hopefully covering it with a bunch of smaller pieces will be effective Then with the stock "deadener" Moved onto the rear side panels I haven't noticed any bad rattles from these panels, so I figured a small amount of deadener would be fine Similar treatment to the passenger side I had all the doors and windows closed while I was working in there and it started to fog up. Some condensation was starting to form on the panels too, and I didn't want to try to keep putting the deadener on like that, so I'm gonna finish it up tomorrow morning! I'll probably just stick the box in tomorrrow, even though it looks as bad as it does, just so I can see how much of a difference the Second Skin makes. I should also be getting a DD-1 sometime next week. Then I'll be saving up for the Fi! That's all for now! 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
REVOofRustler
Alright, so I got some more of the deadener installed today. This stuff works pretty well! It killed the rattle in the back seat, and now there only like 3 or 4 smaller rattles. I've still got 4 sheets left, so I'll get around to those rattles later. I didn't take any pictures of the rest of the deadening though. Sorry! I would definitely recommend Second Skin though. 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
REVOofRustler
I got almost all of the rattles killed! The worst ones after doing all the deadening were coming from the carpeted trim panels on the doors. I tried using deadener to get it to stop. It helped a little, but not a lot. So I decided to try out something I've seen a lot of people on here use! Sprayed in Dried And then I trimmed the rest off with a little saw This stuff made a world of difference! It may have only gotten rid of two rattles, but now I can only hear one or two very small rattles comin from somewhere else in the truck. It's amazing how much better everything sounds when you don't have tons of rattles! 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
REVOofRustler
Just ordered my DD-1! I'm also gonna be ordering some KnuKonceptz 8 gauge OFC to use as speaker wires sometime this week. Once the wire comes in I'll also be putting some bolt terminals on my box; one set per voice coil. Also, my box is currently undergoing its third paint job! Hopefully I'll be able to stay patient this time haha. Until then, I've got my Type R in my prefab. I figured I'd experiment a little and I wired the voice coils in series giving me 8 ohms nominal... It's probably getting around 250 watts rms, and it's just enough to where it sounds good, but not loud to where you can tell the box is crap! Anyways, once the speaker wire is ordered, I'll start saving up for the Fi!!! 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
REVOofRustler
Is anyone still interested in this at all? Anyways, I finally got my box painted! Primed Couple coats of gloss black And then after painting the port. It turned out MUCH better this time! Bolt terminal hardware Holes drilled How it'll look. I'm probably just gonna go get some more brass nuts to replace the wing nuts with. If the wing nuts aren't vertical, they get pretty close to each other and I'm a little worried about making a little short there. Clear coated and dried! And then it went into the truck! The front got a good size scuff on it, but I'm not gonna worry about it. I've spent enough time trying to make this box look nice! Haha It feels nice finally getting that done with! REVOofRustler
looks sweeet!! where did you see how to do the deadener? Thanks bud! I really didn't know for sure what I was doin with the deadener. I just kinda went with I had seen from other build logs and it seemed to work! Haha Very nice job bro. I'm still following. Can't wait to see that fi in there. Very nice build so far. Love the box. I gotta make n amp rack and 2nd baffle my box this weekend. Tired of the rattle coming from the amp. But very nice again bro. Throw yourself in sotm? You have no idea how excited I am for the Fi! Haha. I'll have it wired at 4 ohms until I get a new battery/batteries, and I'm really wondering if it'll be louder than the type r, even though it'll be getting about half power. Those rattles definitely get annoying! I would enter sotm, but I also kinda wanna wait until everything gets done. I'll have to see what this months prize is though and it may change my mind... Looking good so far man, love how the box turned out, and don't worry about the build being slow, we still appreciate your hardwork, keep up the good work man. Thanks! It's definitely nice knowing I'm not the only one following my own build! Haha Soooo I got home from work today and there was a new toy sitting on the table for me! Everything that came with it Signed by Steve! I'm gonna get my gains set with this thing tomorrow, and I'll let you guys know how it does.
