Isobaric for a couple of Crossfire 10s

Recommended Posts

P.S. they are single 4 ohm coils and 10" subs so final load would be 2 ohms obviously. I have a Fosgate T1000bd that will be powering them. I almost considered wiring them at 8 ohms, but I can't imagine the amp puts out a lot at 8. Might be worth a shot just to see :D

My apologies ... my question was answered here ... LOL

So I know you run an external port, but could I try it with a slotted port? I have plenty on airspace, should I try designing a 4th for flatter response?

BTW, I wasn't thinking obviously when asking about the other driver and displacement. If it's a push/pull, obviously it's inverted, it wouldn't affect the displacement.

I'm not much on enclosure bulding ... I refer all my enclosure builds to Jimmy Walker (aka Linear Power's Thunder) ...

but yes, flattest response possible ... I'm assuming you can run the ports any way you want, like I said a while back, I did not design my enclosure ...

fot the flattest responce

0.8cuft net @ 35hz

but idd give 6th a try

0.4 net at 60hz

0.8 net at 30hz

with 2x 3" areo ports

I think you're kind of missing the idea here Sir ... Tuning should be around 24 to a max of 28 htz for this thing to perform correctly ...

This is NOT going to be your average SPL enclosure design ...

the long and short of an isobaric set up is all the weakness of the single sub are balanced by the other sub and the result is the tightest cleanest most accurate bass you'll ever hear ( if done correctly ) not the loudest but the cleanest

2 12" Jeff Vue Customs
1 set MB Quart FSB 216 in doors
1 American Bass 100.1 on sub
1 Hertz EP2 on doors
JVC deck IPOD control
Stock 105 amp alt

I'm not worried about building it incorrectly. I'll be planning the enclosure TONS before a saw or router ever hit any birch. The only real reason I'm considering the Iso setup is because I know these subs won't give any crazy output. However, even though they aren't output monsters, they seem like they have the ability, in the right enclosure, to get some GREAT requency response. I think they will be able to accurately dig into the 20s and still maintain some good sound into the 40s. I think maybe low 30s tuning so I can make sure my mids pick up the slack after the subs roll off.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
