I could tell a little but of a difference in the bass by ear. Just slightly louder though. Then going from playing the HU at 30max to playing it at 39max made me realize I need to update my front and rear speakers ASAP. I also need to add a amp to my mids/highs so I can regulate the power. I am running stock door speakers and tweets off the HU now. With the volume on 39 and all eq settings set to 0 (flat) I can hear distortion on the mids. Hopefully I can get that taken care of within the next month

Hey, no problem. I was glad to finally break it out and do a tune. Also glad to hear that it did get a little louder. Honestly, seeing that the amp gain was much lower, I was a bit worried. It's an awesome feeling knowing where you can turn to without clipping though.

@Mikel: The added volume on the HU really helped me out I believe. I will more than likely play around 30-32 driving in the country/highway and maybe 20ish around town. Can't have the mids/highs screaming in town.

What are some reccomendations for a good set of components for the front and from the factory it came with coaxials in the rear doors but I'd like to change these out to a component set. Would it be worth it to switch out coaxial for component? I also think I am going to remove the very rear speakers completely. Thoughts?

Also what are yalls thoughts on getting something like a RF 400.4 and running each crossover on its on channel?

Trying to get a list together so I can start saving and knock it out one piece at a time.

List of what I need in the next 5-6 months.

Alternator: Mechman 200a or 270a

Head Unit: I need suggestions badly

OFC Speaker Wire: looking for some good 12ga

2 sets of component speakers: I really need suggestions here

4 channel amp: looking for something between 80-120w per channel. Between 75-200 bucks on this. Reason im saying such a low price is I will considered used.

Also I need opinions on whether I should run component sets in the doors or should I go with what's listed below.

Each front door:

(2) maybe (3) Crescendo PWX 6.5"

(1) Crescendo FT1 tweet

Or

(1) Cadence XT-20 tweet

What would I have to do about crossovers and all if I ran pro mids and super tweets? I can install with no problem even if I got to do glass work for it all. I will get some door panels off a wrecked Tahoe and start building my doors from that

Sorry for the shakiness of the video I made the mistake of letting YouTube "enhance" the video

  • 4 months later...

The hoe has no amps!

I got a guy that is suppose to come buy my amp tomorrow. Can I get some suggestions on something new? I was thinking about an AQ 2.2k so eventually I could strap two together down the road. My budget is $400 MAX and I would rather keep it under $350.

How does this amp look? I would be able to get another one this summer to strap them. It is a kinda cheap amp though
