donpablo
About a month ago i had the check engine light come on but then it goes off. So i took it into the shop the o2 sensor code came up they replaced it i get my car back and bam its back on again. i call the shop they say it might be a faulty sensor so they put in a new one again and bam its back on again. Right before the light comes on i can tell cause the car starts to putter a lil bit like its not getting fuel. Just wanted to see if any one out there had some ideas on what else it could be its a 2006 ford explorer Quote 2015 F-150 Platnuim

Chris Hammer
Maybe a probelem in the wiring to the o2 sensor. The wiring that ran to my MAF sensor had a problem in my mercury mountaineer. The connector was the culprit. the wire wasnt crimped very well where the pins slide into the plastic outer piece and it would rattle/move so every once in a while it would throw a code and it would be for the maf. Sanitarium
it only takes a few misses for that light to come on. give her a tune up, run through some injector cleaner and see if she cleans up for ya.

Keith77
Seems like you should take it to a different shop. Just caus the light isnt on doenst mean that they can see what is going on. The computer has a memeory and will in the history. They can also see the "freeze frame" of the data when that light was triggered. Do you know what the exact code number was? That will give me a better idea of were to start. Looking but at the same time it could be a bunch of different possiblities and would need a scanner hooked up to the truck to tell you what I would do first. I doubt you have a bad O2 sensor. Depending on the code. Quote Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.
