HW help. I know someone here is an electrical engineer

Ok so I'm cramming for my exam tomorrow and I'm stuck on this problem right here.... I need to use Kirchhoff's rule but I'm a little fuzzy on it any help would be awesome.

The question is calculate the current in the 2 ohm resistor

and the potential difference between a and b

God damn, I thought you were going for mechanical eng? LOL, I haven't fucked with kirchoff's in like, 4 years, but give me a little bit to take a look at it.

Thanks man. I know if i don't figure this one out it will be on my exam and they make me take physics 2 which is an electrical physics class. I have a cramster but the damn thing is only missing one problem from the solution guide and its this one. My fricking luck.
