Please Check My 4th Order Blow Through!

Recommended Posts

I graphed the box in bass box pro and it Isn't very flat. Cuts off at about 46 hz. One note wonder. I heard the sa12s aren't very good in a 4th order. What do you guys suggest I do? I really want to stay with sundown.

The paper work sundown provides say they are well suited to 4th orders.

Yeah I ha a buddy fix it and then it was more flat. But like Cable guy said I want throat tickling bass. Can a 4th order give that. If I'm cutting my pride and joy I want it perfect.

If cutting cab might as well do four subs.thats just me though.

I agree with this ... Cutting that wall is not easy, regardless of the size of the hole ... If you plan to do this, might as well go balls to the wall !!!

seems like a lot of work for a small build. I second the ppl saying 4 12s or 4 15s. Seems like a lot of work to run 2 600rms 12s.

I'm just thinking that the "blow through" idea with what you plan on working with might not give you any more output than your "under the rear seat" enclosure ... I did not like my "under the rear seat enclosure" either. It sounded good, just not what I was looking for ... The big enclosure (4 15s) was loud, but not nowheres enough dynamics and the "blending to music" capabilities for me either. So that left me with one big hole in my back wall ... and my 4 10s isoberic (basically a tuned enclosure for 2 12s) enclosure idea that Team Linear / Blues built for me worked out great !!! With the way its tuned now, my best on the spl meter is 137.7 db at 28 htz ... I'm almost positive if you installed one similar tunied to around 32 htz with good equipment, you should be well into the 140s with a chance of a 150 ... and still sound very good on music ...

but I can promise you one thing ... getting the currage to take a airsaw to the metal is not an easy thing to do ...

just make sure you have a fiberglass bedcover to cover everything ...
