Daniel Shepard
That's too much power for the type r, They can handle 6-700 of good clean power, But if you start clipping at 750 kiss them good buy, Have you look at the sundown sa10 thell take that all day Or if you want to save space the sa8 The sa8 compared to typeR 12 on the same power, will be on par with spl and sq but you'll still have a trunk Now this got me thinking. I know sa8s are good but I have yet to hear one. Will one of them really match the output of a type r 12? I mean obvously in a good enclosure and good power, but is this possible being 4" smaller? john253a
there are many single sa8 doing low 130 on music and 150+ on a burp just remember not all subs were created equal, Edited August 9, 2012 by john253a

Bump4life
OP ignore all of these other options. you have type r 10s so we will make it work. no need for other subs. but which models do you have? the new ones that have the black cone and rated at 1000 rms? or the older ones? sorry if i missed this in an earlier post Quote Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. Daniel Shepard
So what will give more output, less power bigger box or more power smaller box? I would love to run this ap15001d with all it has but in my current box they would go boom very quickly
Joe X
Dont know why you say that of your current box, I asked you this a while back (above). "Post the size (external dimensions and port dimensions if it's a ported design) of the box you have now," I think 750 W a piece is doable but the box has to be calculated. I would love to run this ap15001d with all it has but in my current box they would go boom very quickly you will be fine running up to 900rms a piece. give them 3 net cubes with 14-15 in sq of port per cube. tune 36 hz-37hz. be happy. The box now is 1 cube net a piece, tuned to 38hrz. I dont want to use this box, thats why Im asking about other boxes. I want to build one that fits my car better and looks/sounds better. Can anyone draw me a sketchup of 3 cubes net, 45sq in port 36-37 hrz. My sizes are l=36 w=14-18 h=16 thanks!
Joe X
Ok here is a suggestion for the Alpine SWR-1043D, port centerline length is 23 3/4", sub displacement 0.08 cubic feet, port/subs firing front/back: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34.5 Hz Vb = 3 ft^3 External Height = 14 in External Width = 34.5 in External Depth = 18 in Port Width = 3 1/4 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2x Front = 15 1/4 x 12 1/2 Back = 34 1/2 x 12 1/2 Left & Right Sides: 16 1/2 x 12 1/2 Top & Bottom = 34 1/2 x 18 Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts: 2 x Front to Back = 14 7/8 x 12 1/2 2 x Extension = 4 15/16 x 12 1/2 Set your subsonic filter to about 28Hz. Any changes let me know.
