CJ18
How many D1400s would it take to properly power 2 DC 9ks with 2 400a alts dedicated just to the 14v side? I have 10 now and am trying to figure out how many more I may need to add.
HunterJohnson
just using math if you're running about 20kRMS. so... around 2200 ah. you have 800 max so then 1400 more in ah battery reserve Quote Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass
CJ18
My calculations say 13 but would like other opinions also.
AMI CUSTOMS
CJ, I came up with 14 in my calcutions, you need around 1000 amps of alt to run that setup for music, so you have 800, you need 200 more amps worth to run that gap. I figured 4-5 more from what you have now will do the trick. Also you running below 1 ohm? if not you will be good with the 13 you came up with, little to no voltage drop from 16 v range. Nathan @ XSpower
1500watts per D1400 for competition use. 12 total would do the job and anything over that is just buffer for extended periods of play time. Again AH means NOTHING in car audio applications.
