Mechman seemed pretty fair, DC Power was wayyy outta my price range, and Iraggi doesn't make one for my car, what other decent brands are out there? SnowDrifter Posted August 29, 2012 Report Share Posted August 29, 2012 I'm only getting 120 amps because of impedence rise. I would get a lot more if I could lower the impedence rise some. For example 120 amps is my draw, where 40 volts is the voltage. Multiply the two and get 4800 watts. Then you multiply that by the amp's efficiency. This is hard to determine because most amp's are given efficiency ratings at 4 ohms. The 3500d is 88% efficient at 4 ohms so probably 70% or so at .5 ohms. Multiply 4800 by .7 and you get 3360 watts. Not quite right. The 40 volts would be on the output side, while the 120a draw would be on the input side. Oh really? I run a 3500 on a single 12. Birch box 30lbs, sub 50lbs. Only one extra battery and a 270amp alt.
