BD1500 vs T15001bdcp

the 1500.1bd is rated below 1500 watts at 2ohm yes but the bdcp version is rated at 1500 watts at 2 ohms.

the bd does rated at 1ohm while the bdcp does rated at both 2 and 1 ohm.

rockford also does there testing at 12.2 volts which is cea complaint and then they do more at 14.4 volts which is ideal for running any amp basicly. so in other words the 1500.1bdcp will do more at 2ohms then the 1500.1bd but im not sure of the rating on the 1500.1bd at 14.4 volts at 1ohm. the 1500.1bdcp is also more effecient at 2ohms then the 1500.1bd and so if your looking at running at 2ohms the 1500.1bdcp will be better no doubt but if running at 1ohm the 1500.1bd could be better but only if it has better effeincy and does more power at 14.4 volts then the 1500.1bdcp

Where does the op say he has a 1500.1bd? he says bd1500 Those are different amps, different model years. The "bd1500" is the same amp I have, and not only are you wrong about it being rated below 1500W @ 2 ohms, that particular amp is not even 1 ohm stable. It is rated @ 750W @ 4 ohms, and 1500W @ 2ohms. If the OP follows your advice he will put his bd1500 into protect unless it is bypassed

Also, fosgate is CEA 2006 compliant on their (not there) amps, is this the CEA compliance you are talking about? If so, you are wrong AGAIN. CEA 2006 compliance involves testing @14.4V.. read and learn a little..

"On May 28, 2003, the Consumer Electronics Association published standard CEA-2006, "Testing & Measurement Methods for Mobile Audio Amplifiers." This "voluntary" standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power and signal-to-noise ratio. Using 14.4 volts, RMS watts are measured into a 4-ohm impedance load at 1 percent Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, at a frequency range (for general purpose amplifiers) of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. This applies to both external amplifiers and the amplifiers within in-dash receivers."

my bad, i thought i saw somewhere that it was 12.2 volts but o well it doenst change the fact that the amp does rated at 12.2 volts and more at 14.4 volts.

about the bd1500 my bad, i completely forgot there was a bd1500 before the 1500.1bd

i would still judge it on effeincy and power compared between the 2 at 2 ohms then.
