I'm not trying to say its against the law or anything damn lol. And I dont know it all, there are alot of people on her that know more than I do, I just wanted to let the OP know what he was doing by chosing to fuse or not. What's so bad about that? Even when done correctly it isn't a gurantee that you won't fry anything or have a fire. But you are a whole lot more protected when you run a fuse and do it right. CleanSierra Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 It's strange that GM didn't decide to fuse my lead wire from the alt to the battery, they must not have known what they were doing either. I don't fuse my BIG3 lead wire, nor have I ever. It's an extra break in the line and just ONE more thing to check for if things ever went wrong. I've never had issues with running non fused. I only run my fuse from the battery to the amps in the back . I DO however run a fused distrobution block to give each amp its necessary amperage that they like to pull. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Ford did happen to fuse my stock charge lead, and apparently GM doesn't... If you guys don't want to put fuses in your charge leads, or anywhere else in your system for that matter so be it. The op asked if or why he should put a fuse in line, and I let him know my .02 on why you should. Now there's a whole bunch of people trting to say I am wrong just because so many people don't do it and never have a problem. I will leave it at that. Sorry if I offended anyone.
