lol, I didnt know what he ment by flip flop dd1's, I just swapped out my knu rca's for some street wire rca's I have laying around and it clips at the same point, I even hooked my sub rca's to the front output on the h/u and it still clips at the same point

That was the exact problem I had on the escort. It would show distortion just right off the bat on low levels from the head unit and the amp. Turned out the cheap rcas I used was letting distortion in. I replaced them re-tuned with dd-1 and was much better. I agree with ray.

And i use -10 on subs.

With some decaf stuff i gotta back it down just a hair. But -5 isnt loud enough most of the time for me.

Build Under Construction

Head Unit = Kenwood DDX514

Amps = Kicker 750.1, Going to install Sundown 1500D v3 and Sundown 125.4

Battery = XS D3400

Wires = Kicker RCA's, 0 Gauge street wire and Stinger

Mids and Highs = Stock

Sub= Kicker L7 12"

Alternator = 220 Mechman

Sound Deadner= Fatmat and Stinger Road Kill
