thanks yall! i'm emailing the snafu guy. seems to be the best bet at getting exactly what i need for my setup. right now i'm running a diamond audio D7 104 amp on four memphis audio entry level subs. got a set up for really cheap so i went with it for a temp deal. i also bought it under the impression that all 8 12s were working but the shop said 5 of the 8 worked so they only hooked up 4, and they hooked up all four to two of the channels bridged. they are dvc 4ohm subs. i figured they could be set up to have two subs on each channel bridged and actually get the power they can handle rms wise and sound better/louder?

any recommendations on a set up with 2 12s and a single amp that will be louder and cleaner than this set up? it's in a 08 escalade esv. id rather have more cargo room, but i don't want to put that much more money into the caraudio system since the alt and everything else costed more that i planned. i'm buying an 2012 axis a22 with an ls3 next week so i'm a little streched out on my budget. thanks again!

If you read the directions that come with the mechman alternator it clear states 1/0gauge power and ground wires.

Its that white piece of paper you first see and toss to the side once you open up the box Some decent info on there and is a good idea to read it, and know about your warranty and other things about the alternator.

and you're probably right, i'm about to call my little brother and ask him if he's read the papers..i'm in kuwait so its a little hard for me to do that. lol

Lol this thread is funny. No one caught that the OP thinks Knu only sells CCA. Their wire is the best bang for ur buck next to buying 150 0/1 welding wire. They sell OFC called kollosus flex it's oversized as well. Measure ur factory wires for the engine ground chassis ground and alternator positive run...double up the positive run add a foot to the total for excess. Buy 8 0/1 lug. Solder em be happy and call it a day

@ chris, you need to buy 2aught welding cable for it to be equivalent in size to a over sized 1/0 gauge wire such as knukonceptz, Kicker HyperFlex, RF, Audio Technix, Shok, XS Power, etc brand wires.

Standard 0/1 welding cable is the size of some of your other brand cables like Stinger HPM and Pro. Its 0/1 gauge, but its far less in strand count and overall size.

Anyways, here is the sheet of paper that comes with every alternator that ships from mechman.

If it was read first like it should be, especially if your not familar with alternators your question would be answered.

It says 2gauge minmium for 175amp model alts.

and 1/0gauge for 200-340 amp model alts.
