79Bronco Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 2 15's in a jetta?? holy shit, what kinda cubes u givin them 15's each Thanks, they're in the backseat at the moment as they are only temporary until i can get some 12's to put in the trunk. I've crunched the numbers on them time and time again and they just aren't going to work in the trunk. Unsure on numbers since it is a prefab box FTL. Cant complain, got the whole sub setup for 150. if u cant help the guy stfu. carry on o.p. i did, i told him kicker is garbage, in a unique way. thats your opinion and has nothing to do with his 3 way front stage. now kindly stay out if you cant help Thanks roscoe! I guess I will just have to get 8 ohm mids to make this simpler on myself. 79Bronco Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 Alright, time to get complicated. Let's say, for sake of argument, that I have an 8 ohm mid and an 8 ohm tweet. Hooking these up to the amplifier with a passive crossover in between will present 8 and 8 ohm load on the amplifier. Let's bridge this 4 channel amp. What will happen? See attached pic. This seems too simple. What's going to xplod? rockFord_Expedition Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 I am pretty sure impedance seen by the amp is determined by the crossover in this case. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
shogen Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 I am pretty sure impedance seen by the amp is determined by the crossover in this case. This.... The crossover most likely would combine the impedance of the 2 drivers... unless the crossover was bi-ampable <<(spell check?) rockFord_Expedition Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Oh, and the impedance at the amp doesn't change just because you bridge 2 channels together if that's what your drawing asks. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
