The only reason I would disagree is because most of these build houses will make any modifications in the materials requested, whether its to increase power handling, or have a custom cone made with you emblem pressed in it. Also, the big name company can put whatever power handling on it they want, if they want the subs to be replaced less often due to warranty reason, they will put a lower power handling on it, and guess what, "wow this sub is under rated it handles a lot more power." Then since in most cases its considered a disposable subwoofer, once it finally craps out from beating on it hard for a few months, when you try to get it replaced under warranty, its not covered because it was over powered, so your only option is to buy another one. Then you brand it and your done. If you look at many of your day to day items around your home you will see a lot of it comes from china or surrounding areas. some one get a kicker CVR and find the "made in China" stamp, thats where they are made. VVME, its $60 on ebay, they dont adverties, they don't add additional cost by adding a magnet boot or adding a rubber gasket to the surround, they don't pay well known people to back the brand, which is why its not $200 a piece. In this case the manufacturer is in full win mode, because they a making great profits, but at the same time the customer wins because half of what they pay isn't not going directly to advertising the sub or to pay people to back the brand or added cosmetic costs. All that in conclusion, it is in the cheap disposable sub catagory, the performance will obviously vary verses other cheap disposable subs, some will be better some will be worse its all about how the components and materials used work together, it is built nicer than $150-$200 retail subs, and there is a chance it could easily be reconed to be an even better performing sub. All that being said, it will still never be capable of out performing or having the reliability of the extremely expensive overbuilt subs available on the market. If that VVME sub had a magnet boot on it that said "****** Audio" on it and the dustcap said "*****Audio" on it, and it was a heavily advertised brand with reputable people backing it up, and lets say they only charged $129.99 for it, people would be all over that thing like flies on shit. Do it in black instead of red, that will fix the cheap look issue.
