Jordan Guess Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 My budget is $10,000. Im looking for something for my wife before I go into the air force that gets great gas mileage, and either front wheel drive or AWD (incase of snow because we will be in Washington for 3 years). Something relatively simple and low on maintenance thats going to get me alot of miles. Im looking for vehicles that have under 100k miles on it. Right now ive been researching the toyota celica's in the years of 2000+, and the GT-S version, and have got some decent results. But however, before I go buying a car I really wanted some outside input on other vehicles that meet my needs that I can look into. Manual shift is preferred but not a must. I am NOT looking for a car that is extremely fast or can have alot of mods done to it as a competition car or anything like that. just something that Is great on fuel and is going to last a long time. your input is much appreciated, and if I left any details out or need to know anything else, just let me know. thanks!
WastedTalent Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 I'm a little biased but you could get a mitsu lancer. They are cheap (brand new, can get one for like 14 grand so used shouldn't be a problem finding one less than 10), pretty damn fast as I've raced a turbo subaru WRX and obviously lost as mine was 100% stock but was a lot closer than ppl think. It can be modded like no other. Pretty good on gas, sure it's not a hybrid or anything that gets like 50 mpg but think mine averages around 28 or so in city. Sheena = pedobear

Jordan Guess Posted September 21, 2012 Author Report Posted September 21, 2012 if I can get up to 150k-200k miles out of it without having to drop any major cash fixes, im all ears for something above 100k miles. I definitely dont want something that I have to be embarrased about getting into tho.
CHEVY4X4BLAZER Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Smart car! Don't quote me on this but I believe there's a 3 cylinder diesel engine option with manual transmission.

WastedTalent Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 http://www.fuelecono...hi_Lancer.shtml Depends on model. Edit: And although doesn't seem like it'd matter, I don't do rush hour type traffic. 15-20 min drive to work and I'm slowing down or stopping for maybe 2-3 mins max of the whole drive. Depends on how the lights are. Usually hit all green. But although in city, it's like suburb denver with 0 traffic since it's late at night or early morning. Sheena = pedobear
WastedTalent Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 After I drove from my house to work... Hit just a little traffic due to it being Friday night and all, which NO ONE wanted to go the speed limit. It's 40 but we better do 30 or It's 55 so let's do 40. Wtf? So that's why the mph is down to 31 haha. Everyone either speeds like a maniac (60 in a 40) or slow as hell (at least 10 below the limit), never on the limit or close to it. 30.4 mpg. And yes, I live in the city. Aurora, CO. Suburb of Denver. Damn ! light is on due to a tire pressure sensor. But as you can see... 30.4 mpg. 2010 Mitsu Lancer ES. Sheena = pedobear
