***Official 3000GT/ Stealth Thread***

Recommended Posts

I know, I know.. its a longshot. However, if anybody has either a Mitsubishi 3000GT or Dodge Stealth, then post in this thread :) I dont care if youre first, second, or third gen; if youre naturally aspirated or twin turbo'd; so on and so forth...

This thread can help us share tips and tricks.

To start of this thread, I have a '95 3000GT N/A. So far audio-wise, Ive done the big three, installed an Alpine HU and integrated it to my Infinity Stereo, ran wires (found many good places), and some more stuff.. nothing major YET though. Thats all in the works...

Leggo.. :drinks:

I agree :)

Aren't they really heavy?

Mine is ~3200lbs, but VR4s are around 3800 iirc. Then again, it has AWD, All Wheel Steering, Active Aerodynamics, Active Exhaust, Electronically Controlled Suspension Dampening, etc.

But to answer your question, yes.. They're heavy. Just out of curiosity, how heave it your 'Stang?

Oh, I thought you were lighter.

I've heard of people losing up to 600lbs on 3/S forums. It depends on what you're willing to lose.

Drop 100lbs to gain .1 of a second seems a bit pointless unless you're really chasing numbers. Of course that is just a general rule of thumb and you can definitely use this chart to help find a more accurate gain for weight lost.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

I'll be watching. My brother has one and wants to put some gear in eventually... If he can ever make up his mind.

Where did you run your cables through? Pic of big 3 for future reference? The alt doesn't look like it will be too fun to install. lol

Have you taken any pics with door panels off?

Eh, for daily driving.. I dont see the point. However, for racing.. I suppose everything matters

I didnt "lose weight" though, and dont plan on doing it (well, anything major at least).

Ill take a pic this afternoon of where I ran my cables through my firewall.

Is your brothers car a SOHC or DOHC? In a SOHC, it looks like a bitch. Mine is a DOHC though. Your brothers looks like its a '96 - '98. Is it a base or SL though? Thatll decipher wht engine it has. On a DOHC its not bad.

Ive taken the panel off a couple times (to replace the window regulator and look at where Ill need sound deadener. Unfortunately, I didnt take any pics. I used this guide, which has pics. The guide is correct.. I used it haha

Oh, and stealth316 is a site to bookmark :)
