270 amp alt: how many batteries? What type?

Hey yall,

So I've got a 270 amp DC Power alternator, Toyota true 2 battery, big three 0 gauge, and i'm currently running a kicker zx2500.1, an alpine pdx 400.1 off of that. I might be adding a Rockford Fosgate prime 1000.1d at some point in the future.

*My question is how many batteries and what type of batteries should i be running in my car based on the power of my alternator and my power needs for my amps?

--What battery should I use under my hood? Do I need to replace the stock True 2?

--What batteries should I put in the trunk?

My car is a 1998 4Runner 3.4L V6 5VZ-FE

*Oh and I'm not trying to win any competitions, this is just my daily driver so I'm trying to keep the cost of batteries below $500 or so

Not sure of your group size under the hood, but if you want good quality and a low price Deka Intimidators it is. Get a 9a31 for your sub stage and you should be fine then whatever size under the hood. Add another down the road if you add an amp.

Depending on how old the battery under the hood is, you could upgrade it or leave it alone. If you were to say; put a power cell under the hood, then you would have to make a bracket or buy a bracket to mount one down. I use XS power batteries, just my choice of battery. According to www.4xspower.com, they recommend a S1200 for under the hood (http://4xspower.com/shop/s-series/s1200/). This is one of their racing type batteries though. So an equivalent sized battery, in the audio realm would be their D1200 (http://4xspower.com/shop/d-series/d1200/). You could then put a XP3000 for a big bang in the trunk (http://4xspower.com/shop/xp-series/xp3000/). It all depends on your wiring overall and how much you actually beat on the system. Look at www.audiosavings.com, they are an authorized XS Battery dealer who offers free shipping. Those two batteries (D1200 & XP3000) would put you just over the $500 mark.
