baaudio
(This log is dedicated to my wall build, my other log is very cluttered with old builds and some talking) Okay, so I finally decided to go big and put a wall in my 97 Explorer Sport. I knew I didnt have much space to work with and have wanted to try a bandpass for a while now. So here we go... I built the box to slide in the hatch had to gut the explorer too... and finally in the car Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k

baaudio
shortly after my saz-3k failed i got my new amps from Crossfire! rated for 1700 @ 1 ohm @ 12.5v. started off wanting to run at .5 each but one kept protecting so i rewired to 2 ohm. upgraded speaker wire stinger 16 to rockford 12 and my first scores with this setup. 12 12s on 3 1700s @ 2 ohm each. we did clamp them and i was rising from 2 to 3.5 and getting about 1200 watts from each! not bad for being rated for 425 watts @ 4 ohm Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k
baaudio
and then trying to scrape that 150 out of this i reversed the woofers so they were mounted normal and added some bracing from top to bottom to suck the box together after this BOOM i had a problem burning up woofers with them like this mostly because they have a pole vent and theres was very little room between the woofers and the back wall. like 1/8" or less after this i figured id try one more thing, i removed the front 4 woofers and took out the amp that didnt like .5. now i am running 8 12s on 2 1700s at .5 each then i hit my best score to date (this is sealed on dash with drivers window down, all other scores are sealed up as that was when i was loudest) i redid my amp rack to accomodate the two amps better Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k
baaudio
then came my next venture with this truck. since i got louder i wanted to ensure that i could keep it up and needed some help electrically. well ive been tossing around the idea of dual alts for a while and finally decided to go for it. i picked up a stock large case GM alt (150 amp) and went to work new alt just might fit... made room for alt got it in! got alts??? i was able to pick up a mechman 270 in place of my stock GM alt Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k
baaudio
and finally added some proper bracing to this beast. 5/8" threaded rod helped a bit and got some kick pods on CACO for cheap that worked out great. color is a little off but i can deal with it for now Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k
