audiofanaticz Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I haven't designed 4th orders before but I can try to do one. I'd recommend a 3:1 4th order. Give me all ur dimentikns Im sorry, but how can you suggust what a person needs for a fourth order, yet you never designed one before, and on top of that this person is to trust their woofers that could easily unload, jump the gap, and get shredded when you never designed one yet? Are you offering some sort of guarentee to the guy that if his gear gets blown because your design you will pay to fix it?? Im sorry, but i have worked on a 4th order wall over the past 2 weeks, and built a few different front loading walls and about 8 different ports for it, and still cant get the car with 6 12s walled in a 4th, 2 ns-1s, and 6d3100s to be louder than a 151.1 sealed (previously it was a low 148 when it came). Ive also built a few smaller scale 4th and 6th orders to try and get things straight for what works and dont work. But your gonna design a box.....
ALPINE408 Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 smh 4th order know it alls or know nothing at alls??? there is guidlines for ratios but there not allways true teammate built a 4th order damn near 10:1 and was not one bit peaky like stated Have you ever had your woofers blown?
Chris Hammer Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 smh 4th order know it alls or know nothing at alls??? there is guidlines for ratios but there not allways true teammate built a 4th order damn near 10:1 and was not one bit peaky like stated I was hoping someone like you or others experienced would chime in. OP you should just try a regular ported box..built to specs and if there is somehting you dont like with it..than post on here or pay someone with tons of 4th order experience to design you one. I dont get why everyone wants a 4th and to run at .5 now. MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. alenv10 Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 okay guys im not asking for an arguement on my page here, im just asking for someone with experience to help out with a 4th or 6th. anything that will get louder than a standard ported box... NOTHING DOWN HERE YET OBSIDIAN FTW
stroupe79 Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 good luck....4th's aren't always louder than "standard" ported boxes by the way....there are tons of variables that determine the success of the box/sub/power/vehicle combination that nobody can tell you for sure anything will be louder than anything else in all honesty... I have seen people get "help" with 4th/6th designs on here and then turn around and destroy their subs just to let you know, not everyone that says they "know" what they are doing actually does! http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
Chris Hammer Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 You know that when you build a 4th order you have to MOVE the port right? Do you already have a ported box OP? whats the specs on the box? MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. Exactly my point!! Let alone a guy that has never built or designed a 4th or 6th order with success is not a great start on getting a design. As I stated, Ive been working on a 4th order wall for the past 2 weeks, and built a few smaller boxes for a pair of 12s, nothing I was happy with on the boxes that couldn't of been done with a standard bass reflex box, or a standard flat wall!! While Im not the most skilled person, I do clean work, quality installs, and I can make one hell of a loud box, and proved it over and over again in multiple vehicles, however that does not make me a bandpass pro.

Thats why I said I could try, I've been researching them and learning a tiny bit about them. So I would give it a try, no guarantees obviously. keep trying im sure you'll get it eventually Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass
