As for the sub ring cutout and high power setups, I do know that I'm not looking to bang hard hitting 140@40hz with 2 1510s 1200 watts. No I want a strong hard flat sounding sub that will play dnb in all it's glory. As for the box, If the sub ring ever fails in my sub par setup I will def make it right next time.
n8ball2013 Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 you do realuze that these woofers are capable of being loud and play drum and bass with no problems right? you shouldnt be looking to play over 75-80 hz with subwoofers either. i think flat respibse in a car is not an easy thing to accomplish. you have a vehicle peak and an enclosure peak to start with. im willing to bet that the claim to flat is bs. good gear can play with authority in the range i listed with no issues. radiospank Posted October 21, 2012 Author Report Posted October 21, 2012 yes I do realize the potential of DD subs, and I chose them over jl for value and price. I understand subs are not meant to hit higher freq eg: 80 hz, but until I get a properly sealed car and front end components this setup will have to do. The flat response was not guaranteed pass 80 and I knew that was shooting high for these subs anyway. I'am willing to sacrafice output for a flat response. I have an Audiocontrol EQS which helps out on the 70-100 ish range, the box wasnt perfect but it was not peaky and it was appropriate for my needs. If you read my first post I stated I started with a .75 sealed box with a DD which I read was terrible for DD. So now that I'm ported i'm very happy and it's loud enough for ME.
