curtdakota Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 i helped my friend install a system in his car, everything went good until we turned it on and there was no L/F balance, it was playing in mono, moving the balance from left to right did nothing. ive checked the speaker wires and rca cables, those are both fine, amp is set to HPF (with hpf on HU set to 80hz), dont have the pos/neg crossed. just not sure where to go from here to troubleshoot it equipment is as follows, HU: kenwood kdc x596 Amp: crescendo c1100.4 speakers: alpine type r's using knu 4 gauge wire kit with there rca's that have the amp turn on wire built in. no rear speakers and no rear rca's also i checked to see if i got left and right mixed up, so i unplugged the left rca and left speaker wires from the amp, turned it on and only the right played like it was suppose to, and then i did i unplugged the right side played like it was suppose to, its its not wired out of phase, its literally mono insead of stereo and i cant see and settings on the radio to change it.
