Wiseracing2
I am running Rockford 6.75" t1 components passively with the aluminum tweeters on a focal solid 4 which is 75x4Rms. They sound amazing around volume 36-38, but past that they distort really bad. My Sony Xplod head unit only has 2 volt RCA outputs i believe, so would adding a Line driver to bump up that voltage help? Im going for loud and clear, and ive got the loud part.. I just need to know of anyways to possibly get rid of that distortion! That1Kid
Is your head-unit distortion-free at that volume? If you aren't sure, DD-1 it and check. -98' Ford Expedition (Rest in Peace) -AVH-P3300BT -Crescendo BC5500 -4 18" DC m2 Level 3.
Wiseracing2
I sadly dont have the money for a DD-1 but others have tested the same head unit and the distortion came at volume 49 out of 50.. so i do not believe its that, and i had my local audio shop install the amp 2 days ago, so they should have set the amp at its levels! I dont know if its the lack of output voltage or what? -1994 Dodge Dakota -Lifted -Murdered out -Pro comp beadlock rims and General Grabber At2 tires -Rockford T1D212 -Rockford 750.1 at 910w RMS -Focal Solid 4 at 75x4 -Rockford T1 6.5 up front -Rockford Punch 5x7 in rear -Sony BT38U headunit with bluetooth, etc -Rockford 4 Gauge -Singer 250 amp alt! -Race accessory HIDS _______________________________________________ -Soon to come- D3400 Kicker 2500.1 Fi BL 12[/font]

Noel989
The line driver will be higher but you'll then have to bring your gain down And even if it's the same head unit model theirs chances that it could distort at different volume Try lowering the gain a lil bit Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/

79Bronco
Lower your amp gain, make sure your EQ is flat and there are no other boosts on (loudness, SLA etc.) Source: Parrot Asteroid Smart Processor: Digital Designs X1 Amps: Soundstream Ref 4.920 + Soundstream Ref 4.400 + Soundstream DTR 3400 Front stage: Hertz 165xl + HL 70 + HT28 Rear fill: Hertz 165xl Subs: 2 SA-12's 3-way active ftw

79Bronco
If you do not have a meter, match the output voltage on the RCA to the input gain voltage on your amp. Not the most accurate way, but will give you a good starting point, Source: Parrot Asteroid Smart Processor: Digital Designs X1 Amps: Soundstream Ref 4.920 + Soundstream Ref 4.400 + Soundstream DTR 3400 Front stage: Hertz 165xl + HL 70 + HT28 Rear fill: Hertz 165xl Subs: 2 SA-12's 3-way active ftw
