First build. Metered 153.3db today. But something is wrong.

Recommended Posts

Wall is 20cu tuned at 33Hz w/ ~14 sq in per. 4 18" Level 3s on a BC5500d @ 1 ohm.

My peak was at 51Hz. Any idea on how to get a lower peak? I mean, how much lower can I tune, realistically?

I was told that a sub may be out of phase, but the wire is in the correct terminal...any other way to tell of one is out of phase?

Without even taking the peak into consideration...burping a 53 with my setup seems really low. I was hoping to do 52-53 on low music. Were my aspirations just completely unrealistic from the beginning?

Did a 146.8 at 35Hz.

are you sealed off?

you would have to pop the coils of each woofer. one could be mismarked or unhook all but one and see if its pushing out when its supposed to and pulling in when its supposed to etc. If you are not sealed off it should be your first priority.

take a battery like 9v, wire + from batt to + on coil. - from batt to - on coil.

if sub moves up, then the polarity is correct. if the sub moves down, then the polarity is switched.
