winter weather subwoofer safety

Recommended Posts

This thread is hilarious!! ahhaah you have to let your batteries and cables and amp warm up? who the hell told you that? ahha electricity flows wayy better when it is cold. less heat = less resistence and more efficient since less heat.. You want all that to be as cold as possible. The only issue when coming to cold weather is your mechanical parts ie. subs surround (not likely to break) and the spider/ glue joints (much more common to break). just cause the car warms up does not mean the spiders have warmed up. i could see it taking 30 minutes for the spiders to actually start getting warmed up to a safe operating temp to wang on them. leaving the car on for 10 minutes will just save you from a cold car. I am not sure if I fully believe in the cold effecting spiders that much but as a general precaution dont wang decaf in the cold.

and for those who asked, it sounds louder when it is colder because the air is more dense. The sub still displaces the same amount of air, so if the same amount of space is displaced with denser air the pressure will seem and is greater on your ear. Cold is better for all aspects of electronics except the speakers moving parts.

haha you have to let your cables warm up. I had a real lol. cold is good for your cables. spiders watch out in the cold though.

Every install ive had has been a hell of a lot louder in the summer months than in the cold winter. Yes, I compared both with the windows down. Maybe thats just me though.

What's this winter weather y'all talking about? Doesn't get below 40 here. Plus of living in so Cal

formerly known as Blue86f150

its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies.

Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive
