Autodesk Inventor thread. Show off what you can do. Boxes, cars, toys, projects, anything is welcome!

Since you are using a single body in a single file, there are no seams.

Try extruding one piece at a time and press the "new body" button in the dialog box each time.

If you still want to put a lot of the detail into 1 sketch, that's fine, just share the sketch & keep extruding from it.

Now each piece is it's own body with seams and listed in your tree - which also let's you shut off visibility of any individual pieces to see/show inside the enclosure.

The other completely different way is to make seperate part files and put them together in an assembly with constraints.

I can show you an example of my box I am almost done building. Post it here or email or whatever...

Ok thanks. I can't assemble at all. I've tried and I'm no good. But that new body is basically like an assembly but in the same part and sketch? But post up pics of anything u have too. It's all welcome in here. This can be a show off thread too for anything inventor. :) thanks for the tip I'll try that later.

Well, I wouldn't really call it an assembly, but it does let you seperate the pieces.

Here is the box I'm currently building:

Thanks for the compliments.

Every piece is a seperate part file. This also helps when making the production drawings.

Each part has a dimensioned drawing. I am 90% done building that box - just making trim panels to the door jams.

If you want to PM me your email, I'll send you a simple box made of seperate parts in an assembly.

It is really the intended use for Inventor.

Sliding amprack for 2 vlf 750.1s

Demensions are 36" w and 24" tall

I want SCSB (santa cruz speaker box on the top with the writing below the letters) then the fi audio logo and the american bass logos behind the second amp

everything that's a logo will get cut out with a saw so you see thru thoes areas into the amp.... so keep the letters big if you can
