DD1 tuning for slowed music?

Recommended Posts

Okay I have been having a problem. I tuned my crescendo bc2000 with the dd1. The other day I was playing my moment (decaf) and the subwoofer cut in and out on the low note yet my voltage doesn't drop under 13.6 give or take but it shows clipping on the bass knob. Is this clipping or a loose connection. This only happens on low songs under 28hz. My box is tuned to 30hz and I am on stock electrical with the big 3 upgrade.

Low notes use more power, that's all I know. You could start drawing conclusions about how this might cause you problems from that alone but I'd test more. Back the gain off and see if the problem persists with the same track.

EDIT:

How are measuring your voltage?

Also good info to have. Use a multimeter if you have one.

Pretty sure low notes don't always use more power. You use the least amount of power at your tuning frequency because that is where the impedance is the highest. 28hz shouldn't be too bad tuned to 30hz. My voltage always dropped the most at 45ish hz when I was tuned to 34 because the impedance was the lowest. Aaaam I wrong?

I'm measuring voltage with a voltage meter its a xs scorpion one. I have to back off the gain about halfway or more on my gain knob for it to stop doing this. Also here are the pictures of my lpf and subsonic on the amp. IMG_20121128_124647.jpgIMG_20121128_124636.jpg

I'm probably wrong. With builds past I have noticed the worst voltage drop on the real low notes, but I can't claim I know how to explain it.
