ric006 Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 make a cutout so the box slides in around the 6x9s
Kwik_Cutty88 Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 Well, I came up with an idea with a little inspiration from ric006. Here it is The cross hatched areas will be the cutouts for the 6x9's. The only problem I am thinking is, how would i do the port if the middle section is higher than the two lower sections on the left and right? It ended up being around 3.1 cu ft. before woofer and bracing displacement. I am thinking of using these woofers and amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27194_Precision-Power-PPI-A.10.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24975_Precision-Power-PPI-S850.1D.html One of my other questions is that when I wire the subs so the amp gets a 2 ohm load, the amp is producing 600 watts x1. Will that 600 watts be 300 per sub? 1988 Olds Cutlass Supreme Classic Brougham. Kyblack76 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Remove the 6x's. When you actually get some bump going on in the trunk, the pressure will act on the 6x's. Causing them to pop and bottom out. Thats what ive always ran into anyway. Cheers and good luck.. SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
Kwik_Cutty88 Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 If I remove them, then I will only have the 3.5"'s in the dash, ad I'm really going for an SQ type build with decent bass.. If I put baffles around the 6x9's that will fix the problem right? 1988 Olds Cutlass Supreme Classic Brougham. certifiednut Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 another idea is to get some kick panels for some 6.5 components, and ditch the 6x9s and 3.5s. these orphans aren't going to feast on themselves
Kwik_Cutty88 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Report Posted December 4, 2012 Not really looking to remove any speakers, just comeup with a decent box design that will work with what I have.
