Jessica
I think if you have lyme disease you will have a brown ring on your skin. Basically it starts out as a spot, then grows, but as the spot grows the center looks like normal skin color so you get a ring. The ring gets larger and larger. That is what a doctor told me when i had a tick bite that got infected. So, luckily i din't get lyme disease. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. Tarball
WOW - I can't believe I'm just seeing this thread for the first time now. First let me say that my heart goes out to you. Unfortunately I know exactly what it feels like to be going through what you are. I'm beside myself right now because I didn't thin kit was possible for someone else to have the same thing happen to them. At least the syptoms. This started happening to me back in 2007. I can't tell you how many times I went to the ER, primary care Drs, specialists, etc. I had MRI, CT, stress test, nuclear stress test, every blood test imaginable, treamtent for lyme disease (without confirmation of infection), blood work and urinalysis for adrenal issues, thyroid issues, triple renal test (kidney function) etc etc. And that just the ones that I can remember! ER is really a waste of time unless you are dying (which is how I felt on more than 1 occasion). They started giving me tranqulizers in higher does - I have to admit though, I was pretty freaked out. I cause was never actually determined but I have my suspicions. The Doctors blamed it on everything from anxiety to kidney stones to my imagination (due to tests always coming back negative). May be different for you, And it may not actually be the cause of my issues but the only thing that was diagnosed and not treated was severe G.E.R.D and a hiatal hernia. I noticed I had the worst symptoms after eating - though the symptoms almost never went away completely. After the initial problems started happening the very first time I felt "normal" was immediately after an endoscopy procedure where they shoved a camera down my throat and identified the hernia and reflux damage. I tihnk the equipment put something back in place temporarily and the probably did something in there with a topical pain killer to make the procedure tolerable (I was unconcious). Anyway, when I woke up it from that procedure I had no symptoms at all for a least several hours. Basically the esophogas, stomach and intestines all work off of the same nerve that feeds your heart and controls your pulse - vagal nerve - the reflux and gerd issues cause feedback into the vagal system and cause all kinds of problems. Fast-forward to now and its been 5 years. I control the symptoms with a low acid diet, eating smaller meals more often. I stay away from caffeine entirely or anything with stimulatns in it (OTC flu meds, anything with epinephrine or psuedo-epinephrine). I still causes issues and pain but I think just knowing what it is has allowed me to learn how to deal with it. There are still times when I think "oh shit - here is it - this time its going to take me out" but I'm still here. So, for me anyway, I need a surgery to fix the hernia, which will in turn correct the GERD issue (over time after healing) with hopes that my symptoms go away. I'm not really sure about having the surgery but hey, what else could it be!?!? I hope for you they find out the issue and you make all the right choices for yourself.
